The Happy Newlyweds!

Oakland Temple Grounds

One thing I learned from our whole Yellowstone/Oakland trip was what a ladies man Spencer is. While we were in Yellowstone, my sister-in-law had hired two girls from her ward to come on our trip and help us with the little kids. Spencer LOVED them and always wanted to be holding their hands whenever we went anywhere. So when he spotted the bridesmaids at Daniel and Monica's wedding we went right up to them and offered to share his pretzels. Silly kid!

The Reception
How Spencer stayed entertained for a good 10 minutes...stacking the glasses. Don't worry, they were plastic!

At the end of the reception, the tables were cleared for a little dancing for the rest of us. I don't know what got into Spencer, but he busted out some dance moves I had no idea were in his little body. I guess if you mix a late night with a LOT of sugar and a little Michael Jackson and you get one crazy dancin' 3-year-old!

The Cambodian Ceremony
Daniel tired, dressed, and ready to start day #2 of the wedding festivities. He and Monica had to be at the house at 5:30 that morning to get ready for everything!

The Cambodian ceremony was beautiful, definitely something you don't experience every day! It consisted of quite a few ceremonies that were very cool to see.
One of the first things we did was parade up the street to the house carrying platters of food and drink to present to the bride and groom.
Kyle and I got to participate in the hair cutting ceremony which symbolized that Daniel and Monica would still find one another attractive even with imperfections and when they're old...or something like that, anyway! (Just pretend hair cutting...which Monica made VERY clear to Kyle before he took the scissors!).
About an hour into the Cambodian festivities, Spencer had had it. He was beyond the point of exhaustion, so we took him downstairs, layed him on the couch and he stayed like this the rest of the time! It definitely made it more enjoyable for Kyle and I!
Janelle was also starting to get sleepy about half way through!

Sisters: Erin & Rachel

The two pictures I took at the Cambodian dinner that night because I was SO exhausted! Kyle's cousin and aunts and uncles met us there because it was the only time we were able to see them. It was so fun seeing them, we're glad they made it out there!

Awesome! That would have been so cool to see a different cultures wedding. Where did Daniel serve his mission? And I love all the purple! The flower girls dresses and hair bow, and esp the bridesmaids dresses. Wow!
